"Writing to... THE END"
Have you ever thought about writing a movie but weren’t sure how to get started? Or perhaps you’ve picked up a how-to book and started a screenplay but never could seem to get to “the end.”
Avery O Williams’ WRITING TO THE END, screenplay workshop series stands upon the belief that by mastering key screenwriting fundamentals, developing a solid writing plan, and employing effective scriptwriting tools you can finally complete the screenplay you’ve envisioned writing.
WRITING TO THE END teaches you the principles essential to the art and craft of screenwriting and story design, and proves the essence of good story is unchanging and universal. Whether it’s a short film, feature film or television script, everything hangs on the structure of classic story design.
The Short Screenplay Approach
WRITING TO THE END features an exploration of screenwriting, discussions about your screenplay idea, exercises and steps to get you writing, as well as screenings from various films. The purpose of this course is to expand, enlarge and broaden your knowledge, comprehension, and technique of the art and craft of screenwriting by actually conceiving and crafting a short screenplay in six weeks.
A short screenplay (less than 30 pages) employs the same fundamentals, structure and elements of a full-length screenplay. With this approach, writers can develop an idea into a short screenplay in as little as six weeks and should they wish to develop it, or another idea, into a feature length script, they will have the tools and knowledge to do that! Because the class is limited one to ten writers, you will experience personalized interactive training each step of the way — from “fade in” to… “the end.”
